    Patrick was extremely knowledgeable and made both of us feel comfortable during the entire class, especially my wife who has never handled a gun before. His attention to detail from the classroom to the range made it a great learning experience for both of us. Highly recommend for new or experienced gun owners!

    I went to my first basic handgun training course. Patrick has a professional set up complete with a large TV display and everything necessary to acclimate someone new to firearms. He is patient and assured I understood each item before moving on. He practices and demonstrated safety with every phase.
    After the classroom we met at a firing range and again he was very thorough and guides all the way. He uses computer and laser system to show you how to improve handling techniques and accuracy. He     … – show

    My wife and I were looking for training and Patrick did a great job. Very informative in class instruction to help us get comfortable with the basics and safety followed by training at the range. Small class instruction was very helpful. Highly recommend Patrick and Deschutes Firearms Training.

    Patrick was an excellent instructor. He was very knowledgable and communicated in an easy to understand manner. The time at the firing range felt very safe with constructive corrections and helpful safety reminders. If you are new to firearms, I would highly recommend a class with Patrick.

    My father and I trained under Patrick’s guidance to learn about the basics of pistol safety and shooting etiquette. Neither of us had shot a 9mm before and would not have been comfortable picking one up without the proper training beforehand.

    My wife and I previously had no firearms training or experience and were seeking pistol training. Our expectations are rarely exceeded however this was the case with Patrick and Deschutes Firearms training. Patrick is patient, knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. His training space is remarkably clean and meticulous. If you are somewhat intimidated by the idea of firearms training and ownership Patrick makes the process very comfortable.     Patrick did an amazing job providing an environment where my wife and I could learn the basics and become comfortable with handling a firearm. We would highly recommend anyone who has little or no experience take his private instruction. Very non-intimidating experience for novices.

    Patrick had an awesome selection of handguns and was very thoughtful and knowledgeable. He gave great instructions and even tought my dad how to shoot a gun. And if he can do that he’s a pretty special guy.

    Patrick is an excellent instructor. We had limited experience with firearms and wanted to receive some training specific to handguns. Patrick got us up to speed on the basics with a few hours in the classroom and followed it up with some time at the shooting range. The instruction was top notch and he did a great job answering all of our questions. The session at the shooting range was also really helpful, especially where we could try out the different options of pistols. Highly recommended!

    Patrick is a great instructor. Helped me figure out my grip and helped me figure out how to control my recoil management.

    Another thing that people don't usually seem to share, is how to really management your firearm on the range, how to keep the tip of your gun in a safe zone when racking and how to stand when racking to prevent endangering others. A mark of a very learned shooter.

    Patrick is a great instructor. As a first time gun owner, I reached out to Patrick for a basic training on how to load, clean and the proper way to shoot my gun. Patrick was patient with my lack of knowledge and experience, explained things thoroughly and in such a way that it made sense and didn't make me feel silly for asking questions. I highly recommend Patrick for the novice beginner and for those that are just looking to reinforce the knowledge that they already have.

    I highly recommend Patrick at Deschutes Firearms Training for any of your firearm training needs. I was a first time gun holder and Patrick's willingness to ensure I had the gun safety education I wanted was a huge first step to easing some of my fears.     Patrick at Deschutes firearms was a wonderful instructor. He worked with me through all my concerns and questions. He leverages newer technologies to help identify flaw in my technique. I highly recommend him for beginners want to get a better understanding of safety, to more advanced students wanting to take themselves to the next level.

    I can’t recommend DFT enough. Patrick is very thorough, knowledgeable, and personable. He knows his stuff. When we went to the range, he gave us personalized attention and really helped us improve in one afternoon. Worth every penny.

    Fantastic instruction from a knowledgeable and patient instructor. I took the 2 day course and can honestly say it was one of the most valuable weekends I have spent gaining knowledge on anything. Patrick is a great listener and communicator and the environment he creates for learning is comfortable and effective. Highly recommended!
