Sensei is a skilled karate master as well as a knowledgeable educator. Teaching is an art. He teaches with an expert balance of strength, humor, and instruction. Students thrive.

Finally, karate school that is exactly what this valley needs! I’ve been looking for a while and tried a couple other schools, but none could compare to this Sensei Palamino has created an environment of fun, discipline and training that is all but lost in this day and age. Teaching real, traditional Shotokan in a clear concise way, alongside students that are respectful and a joy to be around at a very reasonable price. Check it out!

My daughter has been part of Arizona Shotokai for 2 years now. I can’t say enough about how great Sensei Palomino is. He’s patient and fun while still being just strict enough. He also has an amazing attention to detail and goes to great lengths to ensure every stance and every movement is perfect. Sensei is always looking for new and better ways to train and teach – I really appreciate his dedication and willingness to push himself to continue to learn. He has created a positive atmosphere of friendship and comradery among the kids.

My daughter was a little uneasy with sparring at first, but between Sensei and the other kids, her concerns disappeared quickly. She even joined the competition team and has done well on the big stage. It’s amazing to see how far she has come and how much she has learned under Sensei Palomino. I should also note, although this review is geared toward my young daughter’s experience here, Sensei Palomino teaches all ages and all levels.

I recommend Arizona Shotokai to anyone looking for a high quality, traditional karate dojo which balances fun and serious training. … – show

We've been coming to this dojo for two years, maybe more. My son, Jeffrey, has made so much progress in his karate under Sensei Palomino. Highly recommend. Sensei spends much time with his students discussing discipline and respect, not just kata and karate technique. Enrolling Jeffrey was a good decision.
