    This is a beautiful memorial honoring the life of a soldier who lost his life while serving his country.
    Major Michael Donahue was a paratrooper who was killed in Afghanistan in 2014. He was stationed here in Augusta, Georgia at Ft. Gordon from 2009 to 2012.

    This is a great place to run, walk, ride a bike, canoe, kayak, or just enjoy the outdoors. Before crossing the bridge, everyone should stop at the memorial and pay their respects to an American patriot, a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.

    What a great place! This was a great area to go for a long walk with my kids and since I’m so out of shape it really challenged me.... you know…in a good way. (Lots of big hills) This area was very well taken care of, specifically the memorial, and wasn’t very busy even though it was a beautiful day. My only suggestion would be put more seating on the path and get rid of the eye sores (the broken stairs and little bits of garbage)

    The memorial is one of the access points to a walking trail and kayak rental/lanunch area.

    The ramp where the picture is taken down stairs and not handicap accessible. But the walking trail is. It is dirt and gravel.
