Nicky is so wonderful! A couple of weeks ago I came to the salon desperately seeking help for my fried hair. Nicky wonderfully rejuvenated me, correcting my color and giving me a healthy cut. Weeks later my hair is still looking good and healthy thanks to her! Nicky’s also great fun. Don’t hesitate go to Maxwells and see Nicky!

Nicky is the only one I trust with my hair now.

I have been a diehard, “cut my own hair” kinda hippy for ten years after a traumatizing haircut that scared me from paying for another. Nicky changed all of that. I will follow them wherever they go, but knowing they have such a warm and welcoming community at Maxwell's makes me happy to trek out there.

As I am Harlem gal, this is a haul and I couldn't care less. I feel better after an hour in the chair with Nicky and that makes it more than wort h it every time. 15/10 would always reccommend. … – show

I cannot recommend Nicky enough! She has been cutting my hair for years and never disappoints. She is truly a hair genius. My hair has never looked better.

Okay, I’ve been dying to find a new local salon since my previous one closed during the pandemic and not only did I find one, but it might’ve been an upgrade on the last one! Maxwell’s is cute and cosy and easy to get to.

My hair is very fine and straight and getting any volume out of it is like trying to find meaning in a Pauly Shore movie. But, Nicky gave me an awesome cut with natural volume and minimal products.

I've been to Maxwell's twice. The first time I didn't *love* my experience, but the owner was very kind and helped me out, so I wanted to return and work with a different stylist. The second time, this past Saturday, I had the BEST hair cut of my life -- thanks to Nicky! I seriously have never left a salon feeling and looking better. Nicky completely understood my hair texture and what would work for me. I've never been happier. I've gotten dozens of compliments and I'm thrilled with how my hair was cut and styled. Sarah has been cutting my hair for about a year and a half and has always executed exactly what I was picturing in my head. She is professional, friendly, and always makes my experience enjoyable. I can't recommend Sarah and Maxwell's for Hair enough!

I got a haircut with Nicky for my birthday and it was absolutely fantastic! I had an amazing experience with her and my haircut is absolutely stunning. Hands down the best haircut I've had, ever. If you're thinking about it, this is your sign to just do it. Not to mention, Nicky is a GEM. It's so nice to be in the chair, getting your hair done and feeling like you've been going there for years. Highly recommend!

Lo has been instrumental to my hair transformation. I’ve never felt more safe and secure in a stylist’s hands. She listens, understands and executes my vision while also exercising her own creative input. The end result is always better than I ever could have imagined and I will never go to anyone else ever again unless one of us leaves the city or my head falls off and I no longer require her flawless services. Lo, you’re stuck with me.

Maxwells for everyone. Clean, everything u need, professional, covid safe. Lo cuts my (curlyboi) hair, shes made me the happiest my hair has ever been. Couldnt recommend enough!

LOVE Maxwell's For Hair — especially Lo, who has been doing my hair since August 2020 at the Crown Heights location. Lo is an exceptional hair stylist who will work with you to make your hair vision come to life and to also make sure that you're walking out of the salon feeling the best you've ever felt. For anyone looking to have their hair colored, I'd recommend Lo. But tbh, every stylist and barber there is top-notch and super professional.

The shop is also clean and everyone there takes COV ID protocols seriously. 5 stars all around. … – show

lackluster, really not good with curly hair. stylist had me walk out with wet hair, which is not a thing you have to do if you know how to style curly hair

Sarah is an amazingly talented stylist/colorist and an absolutely lovely human being. I spent a few hours with her on a Sunday and she worked her magic on my hair. She gave me highlights and they are -- I am not kidding -- the best highlights I've ever had. Bright, layered, complex, natural. Sarah is a phenomenal stylist and I will definitely come back to Maxwell's. The space of the salon itself and peaceful, clean and pleasant. Overall a five star experience:)

This place rocks! Best haircut I’ve had in Brooklyn! I stumbled upon Maxwell’s on one of my long Brooklyn walks. I’ve been looking for a regular cut in the neighborhood for years and I’m not going anywhere else anymore.

The staff is great and fun to hang with. They have great products. And the cuts grow in so well that they last twice as long. Check this place out!

Really wanted to love it but the highlights I got done look nothing like the reference pictures I brought in. My hair is very dark and no bleaching was used (I was open to it) —wish I was advised by my stylist that it wouldn’t be visible at all:/

Actively looking for someone to fix my hair. Leah gave me the same haircut as the man in front of me (except femmes pay more money? $55 vs $30) Didn’t listen to what I wanted at all. If your looking for a cute pixie go somewhere else.
