Another Yelper, Neil took me to Tian Bao Restaurant. It was an adventure just getting there. I am not familiar with the lay of the land in Flushing-especially when it comes to Main Street and all the dynamic eateries including the ones located on the side streets. I feel like a tourist in another country with Neil as my tour guide. He speaks Mandarin which I do not know any words to. Heck, Neil had to order the buns (dumplings) for us.

ets and down the stairs to find these hidden gems. Definitely, worth the effort and time to find Tian Bao Restaurant located in Golden Mall. Pull open double door- there are stairs going down and patron goes be careful going down those stairs. What a workout- Lots of stairs going down must be an old building. Make sure you use the handrails going up and down. Once you get downstairs. Wow. it's like a basement filled with different eateries. Sort of like a little maze of food vendors. The fun part is checking out what they are cooking and smell the aroma and flavors. Each vendor got hung up menus- I look at the pictures to get a better idea.

Neil knows where Tian Bao Restaurant is and places an order of buns (dumplings). These pork buns are delicious. Utensils and condiments are on the table. It's not your glamorous restaurant here folks. Basic table and chair set up. Feels like an enclosed indoor food truck atmosphere. These are the places where you get inexpensive, delicious and authentic food.

Definitely be back again. Thank You Neil.

Wow! Sooo Cool! My Yelp Friend Neil B. brought me to one of the coolest places in Flushing!!

The adventurer will discover Treasures Buried under the cobble stones of Flushing…Just follow the crooked subterranean passages down the stairs past the seedy looking characters hanging out on the corner near the doorway. Find your way down the creepy basement Labyrinth…watch the crooked passageway… to the back left corner. You found it!

My friend Neil B. has been telling me about his secret dumpling place. He almost didn't want to share this yummy discreet little dumpling joint with the world. The last time he did that.. the places got so crowded he couldn't find a seat there anymore.

Quite seriously folks, The dumplings here are so incredibly fresh, crispy, hot and delicious. Homemade by the ladies rolling them out in the back as you watch. JUST like my wife does in our kitchen and speaking of which, my wife makes some of the BEST dumplings in town! This really makes me picky, I know what a good dumpling is..and these are freaking fantastic! In order of eight of these hot Krispy wonders is only about 4 bucks or so. Oh and by the way if you speak Chinese it is definitely a plus. Because they don't speak much English here… And I wouldn't have it any other way.

So there's only one table here, if our reviews make this place busy we'll probably have to WAIT to eat at another one of our yummy dumpling places. That's okay these nice folks can always use the business and I don't mind standing at the counter.
So in summation because these folks are so nice and so down-to-earth and the dumplings are so Fresh. I give the place 4 Stars! You can tack on an extra star if you enjoy poking around seedy-looking places for cool unusual yummy foods.
