So first off Olivia Kuhns, eyebrow/lash artist, is AMAZING. I cannot recommend her enough. She listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly the brow wax/tint that I asked for on the first try. My eyebrows are naturally lighter than my haircolor and she matched it perfectly together. She is so friendly and easy to get along with, she has that midwestern friendliness that Washingtonians completely lack. Thank you Olivia for provinding amazing service all around!!
I also got a haircut that was a pretty lackluster experience overall, which I guess is semi my fault for going for the lowest level stylist in their salon (I assumed this would be fine for a cut as what I was going for seemed to be fairly simple and straight forward). My stylist was Timber. I sat down in her chair and showed her some pictures of cut that I was looking for. Overall her vibe was okay, she was quiet which was not bad, but trying to have a conversation with her was difficult and I felt pretty awkward the entire time minus a couple of lighthearted jokes. I wanted a shorter haircut above my shoulders, but below my chin. Timber was extremely precise with her cutting which was a huge bonus. I told her I generally wear my hair as it naturally dries and dont style/use heat often with my hair. She straightened my hair with heat and cut my hair all at the exact same length, which after drying was fairly unflattering to my face shape. When asked I told her that it seemed a little boxy and maybe could use layers to be lighter on the bottom and more flattering to my square jawline, she got dismissive/defensive and made me feel really uncomfortable. I was very taken back by her attitude change. She said that she could texturize the bottom a little more. We were running out of time for our appointment, unfortunately, and she seemed flustered. I felt embarrassed that she had received my “criticism” of the haircut so poorly and seemed offended I would ask for her to make it more flattering to my face shape. I asked her to add face framing and some side bangs, which both turned out okay. Even after texturizing the bottom of my hair it was still really boxy and unflattering, but I really felt uncomfortable sharing that with her as she had received my prior criticism so poorly. I mostly just wanted to get my eyebrows done so I could go home. She did not finish drying my hair completely and told me she would add a $5 discount to my price, which did not get added. I would possibly try another stylist at this salon, because everyone else seemed to be a lot more experienced and friendly, but I will not be back for and would not recommend Timber's services.
Edit: The response saying they would “fix my hair” is silly because they require at this salon if you see someone and you dislike your haircut you have to either go to the same stylist or someone of equal or lesser status. Given that Timber has the lowest training status at their salon right now and is the only one at that level the haircut would have needed to be fixed by her and is why I didnt wish to pursue getting my haircut “fixed” at this salon. The $5 discount “slipping” at checkout is highly unprofessional.… – show
Hi Rachel, We're so happy you loved Olivia. She is amazing!! For your haircut, we're always happy to fix or tweak it if you let us know within 7 days of your service. The $5 discount must have just slipped accidentally at check out. Our apologies. We wish you nothing but the best holidays.

First time I got my hair done with Megan, she was so kind, very upfront and professional about what I wanted and costs so we were both on the same page!!! Not only did she do an amazing job but I had a bit of an anxiety breakdown in the middle of the session & she immediately jumped into big sister/best friend mode trying to help in any way while staying very calm, kind and non judgmental! I’ll remember that interaction forever first impression GREAT, hair GREAT. THANK YOU MEGAN
Thanks Erin for this awesome review! We also love Megan so much and we are glad you had a great experience with her!

Crystal is amazing. She has such a great eye for color, and she can do a great curly cut. The interior is beautiful and I never have a problem getting an appointment. Highly recommend!
Hi Renae, Can you please email us and let us know about your experience and who your stylist was that way we may improve? We can't find you in our system so we're a bit confused about what happened during your appointment.

This was my third visit here and I’ve only had great experiences. My hair was a hot mess when I walked in today. Timber was kind enough to walk me through hair restoring treatments I could benefit from given the condition of my hair. She did a great job removing dead ends and applying K18 as well as blow drying my hair. Complete 180 transformation. I highly recommend this salon and the stylists there. They also carry a good selection of products and I usually pick a few up after my visits. I will keep returning.… – show
Had Megan as my stylist today, and she did a fabulous job! She was very patient, I felt like she really took the time to listen to what I was looking for and I was never rushed!
My color — **chef’s kiss** could not have turned out any better. If you’re a blond looking for a great colorist, I’d highly recommend her!
Hi Dawn! Thank you for the great review. We think Olivia is amazing too.

I really should have walked out the minute my stylist came in for my appointment 25min late… Still can't get over the fact that I paid $300 to just damage my hair
I wanted platinum — I showed her a picture. Overtones my hair in the sink for 25min I got ash gray hair. Stylist said she can remove the the toner out next appointment Removed toner and I left with the same color
I just can't get over the fact how they got away with this.
300$! For damage and no results

Lizanne is phenomenal. She has cut my hair and since done a root smudge with highlights. I have been extremely impressed with her work, she takes her time to ensure it’s perfect and is dedicated to ensuring the best outcome so you leave feeling amazing and satisfied with the end result. Not only does she do great work, but her personality is wonderful too. We typically have a lot to chat about and I feel as though I have made a new friend in her. Lastly, Dolce Salon is so cute inside and really clean. Welcomed with a smile and easy checkout. Love coming here. Thanks Lizanne!!… – show

Do not go to Dolce! I saw Heather, the business owner, and we did extensions to add length to my hair. At our initial consultation, she let me know how much hair I would need to order and I double checked with her to make sure it would be enough since I naturally have really thick hair and she said yes. At my first appointment, she informs me that my hair isn't even there because one of her other stylists used it on another client. No call from her, I find out when I show up. We reschedule for the next week to try again. The pictures do not lie and speak for how bad her installation was. You can see chunks where the hair is totally blunt and not blended, as well as sections where hair was not installed in the correct spot and large sections of my natural hair length stick out in an unflattering choppy and obvious way. The hair looks cheap and tacky and is not blended whatsoever with the natural hair. She let me leave the salon looking like this, and said to curl it so it blends better. Major red flag. The final product should look ok, regardless of the style.
I reached out to Heather twice after leaving the salon. The first time was immediately after I got home and noticed how awful it looked once I was in brighter light and could get a full view. She responded and again mentioned curling it to blend altogether and said she could be more aggressive with the blending if I wanted. After speaking to two different stylists, I reached out a second time and let Heather know that I was truly not comfortable having her fix my hair as she had no issue letting me leave her salon with it looking this bad the first time. She then mentions that during my appointment she was unable to do it properly because of the method she used to install and the fact that she didn’t have enough hair to do so. She did not mention either of these things to me during the appointment, although she very clearly realized it was not right and she let me leave regardless. She waited until I reach out multiple times to say anything about it. Not only is this untrustworthy, but on top of that she maintains that her work was good. Not sure which part she views as good. Is it not ordering the correct amount of hair even though I initially pointed out that it didn't sound like enough? Or the fact that she was frantically trying to make this mess look ok towards the end of my appointment as I noticed more and more sections that looked wrong, and she was running out of time? Or was it good that even when I immediately reached out to her after the appointment she still failed to mention all of the above until days later when I reached out a second time? Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe the entire exchange.
She did not offer any type of reimbursement for the poor work, and in fact said that she could put more hair in presumably the correct way this time, at an extra cost to me. Since she didn’t do her job correctly with ordering the proper amount, or with installing it correctly, it is now going to cost me more. I told her that I do not trust her at this point, since she was not upfront with me any step of the way. I let her know I was reaching out to her first to reimburse me for the six hundred dollar install that looks terrible. I would rather have someone else fix it who I can trust. Her response was that it was good work. Huh?? If you want a good outcome with someone you can trust, do not go here unless these pictures are also your idea of a good look.
Edit: Heather offered a partial refund for her terrible install on the condition that I remove the review as the pictures and her shady tactics are definitely not good for business. I have let her know several times I want a full refund and she refuses. She even went to the trouble of disabling the entire review section on her FB business page after my review was posted, rather than issue a refund to me. It's clear that she does not want people to see this. As a business owner, she would rather hide her poor quality work and mishandling of this situation over choosing to make it right.… – show
Emily, Thank you for your review. As we discussed, you have incredibly thick hair, and we underestimated how much hair we were going to need, and for that we are very sorry. We have privately sent you multiple solutions for the situation. If you would like to take us up on any of those solutions please let us know.:)

I went in for the first time to get my hair colored. Vanessa is a gem and did magic to my hair. Loved the entire vibe of the place. Definitely recommend!
MY GO-TO! Hands down the best salon I've tried in Tacoma (and I've been to a few.) The staff is very welcoming/accomodating, the ambience is so pretty and inviting, and the vibes are always great! Megan Craig is my stylist and I could not recommend her enough! She is super talented, thoughtful, and careful about treating your hair with TLC! LOVE her and absolutely love this place!
Angela thank you for your kind words. We agree Megan is very talented.

I am so happy I found Dolce. I went here for the first time and although there was a little scheduling snafu at the beginning, Crystal more than made up for it. She was so kind, funny, and knowledgeable. She listened and asked questions to get just what I wanted. And the salon is beautiful and clean! I’m definitely coming back, specifically for Crystal.
