my first visit and I was very pleased. Everyone was very courteous and professional. Donna cut my hair -- it's getting thin in a lot of places but she did a great job with what she had to work with! I'm sure to return again soon. HJK

The best part of my day occurs whenever I come in to The Gentleman's Quarters for a shampoo and haircut! The hot towel wrap while my hair is shampooed and conditioned feels amazing. Lindsey then makes me look human with her skill with scissors, comb, and razor. All while catching up from the last time I was here. I'll be back!

Excellent experience at Gentlemen's Quarters: nice location, cozy layout, professional staff all contributed to time well spent. Edict went well out of her way during a hot stone massage, recognizing chronic muscle knots and working hard to address them. Treatment was very helpful and service commendable. I'd definitely return.

A hidden gem of Alexandria that’s for sure! If you want a much nicer haircut, quality, and fine detail put into it this is your place. Also, a complimentary bar included! Thanks to Rocco and team for always being phenomenal!

For nearly 30 years, I’ve travelled and lived all over the world… In all that time, I failed to find *any* barber experience I’ve felt fully satisfied with… until now. Gentlemen’s Quarters is absolutely everything I could want in a quality barber experience. You’re immediately greeted with a smile and the offer of a drink and a comfortable seat. Great (pleasant and friendly but not overwhelming) conversation, extremely skilled barbers, warm towels, straight razor cuts, hair washes… you name it, GQ has it! I got my first cut with Rocco, and he was absolutely incredible. The treatment, cut, and overall quality *more* than justifies the price. I’ve finally found my lifetime barber!! … – show

Excellent barbershop. A notch above the rest. Included services: shampoo, hot towel, beverage of your choice, consultation, haircut & razor done by hand (no trimmer), blow dry, and American Crew hair product. Donna, you are a class act. Thank you!

Excellent location with a really cool vibe. Scheduling an appointment online was easy. Arrived 10 minutes early and was immediately guided upstairs, where I was offered a drink. Nice touch. Elizabeth was awesome and was far more skilled than the 4 other barbers I have been to in this town. The service included a cut, shampoo, conditioning, warm shaving cream razor, blow dry, and styling product. Everyone was kind and relaxed.

Things to know:
1. Twice as expensive as other barbers in town but al so twice as good and you don’t walk out covered in hair, feeling itchy and like you need to take a shower
2. They do not accept Amex (found out the hard way)
3. There is no option to tip if you pay with card, so you need to bring cash (wish I had known ahead of time since I do not carry cash) — would be nice if they all had Venmo QR codes or something! … – show

I moved to the area in November and have been trying to find a good barber. If you're struggling, then look no further. Best haircut I've had since moving here, and one of the best in general. I'll definitely be coming back

I can't speak highly enough of this establishment. The experience, treatment, service, and hospitality are top notch. Does it cost more than your traditional barber, yes; but you get so much more than just a superlative haircut at the Gentleman's Quarters. You owe it to yourself to try it! You will not be disappointed.

An absolute must for men's grooming needs in OT. Comfortable, great staff, a complimentary drink to take the edge off a long day, good conversation, great cut + warm facial towel and massage. What more do you need? We've been coming for awhile now and no plans to stop. Elizabeth is an icon, the rest of the staff are great too. We look forward to every visit. 10/10 every time.

So the staff that actually perform all the treatments are absolutely great. I cannot say enough good things about them. I’ve never had a bad experience with them; Fifi especially is wonderful. However, I have to say the front desk attendants I’ve dealt with there constantly come across as rude and very uninviting. Last week I was there on a Wednesday afternoon and received a facial treatment and when I asked about leaving a tip with my credit card the woman waved me off and sounded annoyed at me for even asking almost like she was scolding me. I’m not an employee there I’m a client so I found that type of response to be incredibly unprofessional especially since I just spent over a hundred dollars that day and have been going there for years. … – show

I have been a customer of The Gentlemen's Quarters for years and can't sing their praises high enough. All their barbers are excellent, Stephen Windor who cuts my hair is a pro's pro. He is thoughtful, listens to what I want, and then does a much better job with my hair and slightly unruly beard than I ever imagined. I always get 'did you lose weight' after my haircuts… not cheap but well worth it for the white glove/hot towel service… best I've ever found. Must be because we moved to Ba ltimore but still drive there for monthly haircuts! … – show

I just moved in town and was looking for a place to get my haircut done. I shopped around and found this place on Yelp looked nice and had very good reviews. So I booked a session with them. I was late for my appointment like 10 mins and got called by a lady asking me if I’m coming. I apologized but need another 5 mins to get there and she said you already late for 10 mins and still need another 5?! I said I’m sorry. She said ok and hung up. It was my bad for running late but come on that’s not the right attitude for any customer.
I parked my car ran to the shop and the two front desk ladies was chit chatting and the hair stylist was waiting for me. She was nice and friendly but that’s it. I got the worst haircut in my life except the one time I cut my own hair during Covid. She cut my hair in 10 mins I guess because I was late and she had another customer waiting. She could reschedule me but not compromise the quality. She walked me downstairs and the two front desk ladies were still chitchatting, I felt like I was bothering them to my my bill. $60 damaged and I’m looking for somewhere else to fix my hair now. … – show

Excellent staff and atmosphere. The haircut was good but the facial by Touria was exceptional! The facial was the most relaxing and pampering experience I have ever had. I fully recommend making a reservation for a facial with Touria. She is a real professional and a treasure.

I look forward to haircuts at Gentlemen's Qtrs. Staff is great…atmosphere consistently positive, upbeat and relaxing. A steaming towel to the face and stimulating shampoo bring instant stress relief… followed by a consistently excellent haircut coupled with a conversation instantly picked up where we left it weeks before. I have no doubt GQ employs a number of popular and talented professionals, but for me it's “Lindsay.” She freshens my look and my spirit with every visit.
